PRINCE GEORGE, VA -- A robbery involving three suspects occurred at the Love’s Travel Stop located at 7200 County Drive on Sept. 28 leading one to be apprehended, according to the Prince George County Police Department.

One individual described as a slim, light-skinned, black male wearing a red shirt and black pants and another individual described as a heavyset black female wearing a blue shirt and blue shorts entered the store from a burgundy minivan at approximately 3 a.m. with the driver remaining in the vehicle.

The female has been identified as Esther Gordon, 56, of Richmond and the male has been identified as Van Scaturro, 52, of Richmond. Gordon was apprehended shortly after the robbery and Scaturro has not been located at the time of this article. The driver’s identity has not been identified.

Gordon had reportedly asked the store clerk for directions allowing Scaturro to strike the clerk in the head with a bottle while the clerk was writing down directions. Gordon had taken cigarettes and food while Scaturro took money from the register as he was pushing his fist against the back of the store clerk’s head.

Scaturro left the scene in the vehicle, which was last seen heading southbound on Prince George Drive, while Gordon left the area on foot. The store clerk was treated at Southside Regional Medical Center with a laceration to the head.
