Search continues for suspect in Dollar General armed robbery

PRINCE GEORGE – Authorities continue their search for the man who brandished a firearm during a robbery at a store along Route 35 last week.

According to Prince George Police, just before 9:45 p.m. on Friday, May 5, the suspect entered the Dollar General store in the 2600 block of Courtland Road just off Interstate 95.

Once inside, he held up the business and displayed a gun with his left hand during the robbery before fleeing the store on foot with the register containing an undisclosed amount of money.

No injuries were reported during last week’s armed robbery.

Police later found evidence from the Friday evening robbery approximately 11 miles away from the scene of the robbery in neighboring Sussex along Route 35.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’9″ tall, wearing blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt, with a black bandana covering his face at the time of the robbery.
