UPDATE (Prince George, VA) –Arrest Made in BB&T Bank Robbery

During the early morning hours of Friday July 22nd, the Prince George County Police Department arrested Emory Smith in connection with the armed robbery that occurred at the BB&T bank on Oaklawn Boulevard this past Wednesday.

Smith, age 57, was located at a motel on Wythe Street in the city of Petersburg.  He was taken into custody without incident and was transported to Riverside Regional Jail and charged with armed robbery (no bond).

Prince George County Police would like to thank the community for the numerous tips received as well as Petersburg Police for their assistance in the apprehension.

Police need your help in identifying a suspect that robbed the BB&T Bank in the 5100 block of Oaklawn Boulevard in Prince George County.

Today at around 2PM, a white male entered the BB&T Bank and handed the teller a note demanding money.  The suspect was wearing a long sleeved gray shirt or jacket with ARMY on the front, black and gray hat, and blue jeans.  Additionally, the robber was approximately 5’5”, had white/gray hair and a goatee.  The suspect fled the area in a truck described as an older model Chevrolet S-10 truck, dark red or maroon in color, with front quarter panel damage on the driver’s side.
