Prince George County Public Schools Names Mr. Michael Campbell As New Coordinator of Communications & Public Relations

PRINCE GEORGE, Va. – Prince George County Public Schools is pleased to announce Mr. Michael Campbell has been selected as the school division’s new Coordinator of Communications and Public Relations.

Mr. Campbell comes to PGCPS from his most recent role as News Editor and Digital Media Director for three of Womack Publishing Company’s weekly newspapers: The Dinwiddie Monitor, The Prince George Journal, and The Sussex-Surry Dispatch. He brings eight years of experience as a Mass Communications professional in the field of journalism, working primarily in the world of print, providing news and information to readers through physical newspapers, digital, and social media.

Mr. Campbell graduated from Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for the Arts and Technology and attended Richard Bland College of William and Mary and Virginia Commonwealth University with a major in Broadcast Journalism.

“I am excited to join the Prince George County Public Schools family in this capacity and I look forward to informing our families and sharing all of the wonderful things happening in our school district,” Mr. Campbell stated.

In addition to serving as a News Editor and Digital Media Director, he has also served as a Digital Content Producer, Multimedia Journalist, and Staff Writer in the Metro-Richmond and Southside Virginia news markets.

Mr. Campbell has been honored by Prince George County Public Schools with a recommendation to the Virginia School Boards Association’s Media Honor Roll in both 2018 and 2019. He was also recognized by the Virginia Press Association in 2019 for excellence in journalism and news writing.
