PRINCE GEORGE, Va. – Prince George County Public Schools is pleased to announce Mrs. Kelly Jones has been selected as North Elementary School’s new Assistant Principal for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.
Mrs. Jones holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Teaching degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition, she holds an Educational Specialist degree from Virginia Polytechnic University in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
During Mrs. Jones’ tenure as a classroom teacher, she has sought and held many leadership roles as well as served as the Summer School Principal and Learning Recovery Principal. Some of her leadership service includes grade level team leader, think-tank leader, science team lead, new teacher Mentor, and as Cooperating Teacher for student teachers.
In addition to her leadership development, she is known for her dedicated participation and contributions as a member on numerous other committees and teams that include the Crisis Team, School Improvement Committee, Policies and Procedures Committee, Community Engagement Team, PTO liaison, and youth coach for running clubs.
As a graduate of the Prince George High School, Mrs. Jones will be returning home to Prince George as a school leader and valued community member.
“I am incredibly excited to join the team and to be able to come from a classroom where I was only able to help 25 children, to now being part of a team where I can help every student within the school,” Mrs. Jones said. “I am excited to support our teachers and staff to help make North Elementary School one of the best schools in Prince George County.”
