PRINCE GEORGE, Va. – Prince George County Public Schools is happy to announce the selection of Ms. Amanda Craft as Walton Elementary School’s new Assistant Principal for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.
Ms. Craft holds a Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Human Development and Psychology, a Master of Science degree in School Counseling from Radford University as well as a Master of Education degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia.
Her service as a School Counselor at the elementary and secondary levels, has provided Ms. Craft experience with a wide variety of critical aspects of teaching and leadership. Among her previous experiences, she has facilitated effective practices for academic planning, social and emotional learning needs of students, career and college readiness development, and behavioral supports to help students be successful.
Ms. Craft’s work as SOL test coordinator, 504 Case Manager, Child Study Chair, Curriculum Lead, the Schoolwide Attendance Program, and as acting designee for the Principal have prepared her well for
assuming the Assistant Principal role.
Further, as a former student and graduate of the Prince George County Public Schools, Ms. Craft is passionate and excited about re-establishing her role as a member of the community and with the students and families of Prince George as Assistant Principal.
“I graduated from Prince George County Public Schools and attended Walton Elementary School for 3rd through 5th Grade, so it feels great to come back to the PGCPS family,” Ms. Craft said. “I am excited to embark on my career as an Assistant Principal and become a leader at Walton Elementary.”
