Womack’s remains found near Puddledock Place Apts. last month
PRINCE GEORGE – The state medical examiner’s office has identified human remains found in the county’s Puddledock area as that of a Prince George man who has been missing since 2014.
In a statement Monday evening, Officer Alexis Grochmal with Prince George County Police confirmed remains found early last month near the Puddledock Place Apartments are that of 70-year-old Harry Womack.
According to Grochmal, Womack had been reported missing on June 14, 2014 by a member of his family and an extensive search of the area and various locations the man was known to frequent turned up few details as to his whereabouts.
At the time Womack’s remains were found and transported to the state medical examiner’s office last month, his body had undergone advanced decomposition, which resulted in officials being unable to determine a cause of death of the Prince George resident.
