PRINCE GEORGE – The new year in Prince George County began with a death investigation Wednesday after human remains were uncovered along Puddledock Road.
In a brief statement Thursday, police confirmed the remains were found in the 4100 block of Puddledock Road near the Puddledock Place Apartments just after 3 p.m. by two people who were walking in the area earlier in the day.
Detectives and officials with the state medical examiner’s office collected the skeletal remains, which authorities said were “in an advanced state of decomposition.”
Few details were shared upon the remains’ discovery, with Prince George Police Public Information Officer Alexis Grochmal saying Thursday, “Further information is expected subsequent to the Medical Examiner’s autopsy/investigation.”
As the medical examiner’s office begins their examination of the remains, police have asked anyone who may have any information tied to this case to contact the department at (804) 733-2773 or Crime Solvers at 733-2777; you can also send your tip using the P3tips app.
