PRINCE GEORGE – A county holiday tradition returns for another year of delivering Christmas cheer to Prince George County residents.

This Saturday, the county’s annual Christmas parade will step off at 3 p.m. from Beazley Elementary School, with this year’s theme being “A Merry Christmas Thank You.”

The parade will move along Courthouse Road, past the historic courthouse and government complex, providing plenty of parking and spots to see all of the parade’s floats, units, and marching bands take part in the event.

For those traveling in the area, expect some road closures and delays in the area of Courthouse Road between Allin Road and its intersecting traffic circle, Route 616, and other roads that link to the parade route during the early afternoon Saturday.

Middle Road (Route 646) and U.S. Route 460 are suitable alternate routes during Courthouse Road’s closure Saturday.
